  3. Notification sounds for each app

Is there an option to change the notification sound for a specific notification sender in Windows 10 PC Version?

For example, I would like the Calendar program play a custom, "Appointment due", but for Mail, "You have mail", Security and Maintenance play an "Alert" sound, etc. similar to how it can be done in Win 10 Mobile. It will be a great feature, cause I will know what notification I got, when I'm not close to my laptop and instead of running unnecessary, I will know just with the sound

  4. Introduce an Ease of Access option that forces ANY Windows application to have conventional scroll bars with left / right & up / down arrows

A growing number of software developers such as Postbox Inc and Mailbird are copying Apple's ultra thin scroll bars with no left / right & up / down arrows when creating applications for Windows.

This recent trend has introduced the issue of scroll bar inaccessibility to Windows users, making life increasingly difficult for people like myself who has arm control difficulties. Should this trend continue, many disabled people will face an increasingly limited choice of software due to companies who place "innovative looks" over accessibility.

Please Microsoft, introduce an Ease of Access option that forces ANY Windows application to have…

  5. Introducing a new setting for battery usage

Nowadays many of the users of windows use laptops which is powered by battery. But I did not find any SETTINGS to see how I used the battery, consumed battery percentage of applications or screen on time. But for effective usage, I think these statistics is needed.
    Hope to see this things.

  7. Change file downloading back

The reason many did not switch to Google Chrome was due to the way it handles file downloading. Instead of a simple Open or Save As, the way Edge has always handles it, you have to go through several steps, and all of the extra time it takes ads up. But you decided to borrow this method from Google to reduce functionality for Edge users in a HUGE way. There are so many complaints about this but you haven’t changed it back. Don’t borrow the bad functioning of Google Chrome...that just makes no sense. Here’s one of the message strings: …

  8. Reducing background game music and automatically control the Xbox One in complicated games for blind and visually impaired gamers

    Dear Microsoft,

I have some suggestions on improving the accessibility on Xbox One for blind and visually impaired gamers. I am a visually impaired gamer. I like to play Final Fantasy especially Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy. For Final Fantasy XIII-2, I have noticed that the background game music is very loud, and it is sometimes difficult for me to hear the character’s footsteps, depending on the music and the surface the character is navigating on. I strongly suggest for you to add an accessibility feature on the Xbox one console to have the ability to reduce background game music, so…

  10. Chromium Edge Loading indication

Like the performance of the Chromium Edge however when first starting up it sometimes appears to "hang". As a screen reader user there's no indication that the Mouse has gone to the spinning wheel and Edge is doing something in the background that takes ~30 seconds.

Solution would be nice to either not have Edge hang like that OR at least have it such that JAWS says its loading.

  11. O365 Edge to Open in Desktop App for Screen Reader Users

Problem Statement: For Screen Reader Users the Desktop apps for O365 are much more user friendly. However many links are shared that take users into the browser version. They then have to find Open in Desktop App.

    Suggestion:
Allow for an automatically open in Desktop App feature.

  13. Azure accessibility

We are having considerable difficulty getting screen readers to work with Azure Bot Service. The biggest problem we have is focus loss. We've been troubleshooting the problem for months, but haven't had any success. We really need an accessibility specialist who understands assistive technology and WCAG to help the Azure team troubleshoot. Can you help us out?

  14. typing echo

Can you add typing feedback to Windows? I imagine this would work similar to the Typing Feedback feature on the iPhone. When enabled it would speak each character as the key is pressed aloud.

This is useful for low vision users who cannot see the keyboard but want audible confirmation they have pressed the right key.

  15. Force translate in Edge

It would be nice if Edge offers translation option (pop-up box) even if translation setting is turned off in user's Edge browser. If users do translate when shown the pop-up, automatically enable the browser setting to offer translation.

This is necessary to avoid having to explain to users how to enable translation in emails spanning multiple geographies and I am sure it will help millions of change managers across the world!

  16. visual studio Screen Reader Webinar

I am a big fan of your accessibility webinars as they are an incredibly useful resource.

As a Blind UWP developer I would love to see a "Using Visual Studio with Narrator" Webinar. It would be useful to cover the hotkeys which, when combined with Narrator, make it eaasier to navigate the various interface windows, menus and ribbon.

Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Mark

  17. Tweak the Windows 10 Mail App to make it a little easier to use with a screen reader.

When pressing Control+y to open the list of folders, it should be possible to collapse the view containing the current account folders and expand another account like in Outlook. For example, I press Control+y to open the list of all folders. At the top of the list I'd have items for account 1 and account 2. Collapsing the view for account 1 would hide the Mail folders and allow me to down arrow to account 2 to quickly look at its messages. This is already possible in the Outlook desktop client, so it should be simple to port this feature…

  18. Reduce ambient noise in the Disability Support Call Center

The Disability Support Call Center has a very high level of ambient. The causes are probably the usual: too much hard surface in the environment, too low or non-existent partitions, staff are not trained to speak normally, no established noise level expectations are set, no monitoring of noise and speech levels, no continuous improvement plan, and no coaching to meet expectations.

I have multiple disabilities, hearing is one of them. I wait as long as possible to call because I always have great difficulty understanding the support representative. The major problem can be fixed with no investment.

    The problem is…

  20. Fix Word Native PDF Generator Limitations - PDF/UA

PDFs output with the “Document structure tags for accessibility” and “PDF/A compliant” options checked facilitate the production of accessible PDFs, however the resulting PDF does not comply with the newer PDF/UA standard (ISO 14289-1:2014).

We found the following limitations that prevented Word 2019 (on Windows) from achieving PDF/UA compliance.

    [Bounding Boxes]
Images that are inserted into Microsoft Word documents are not output with bounding boxes. Each "Figure" structure element should have a bounding box.

    [Table Header scope not set]
Table header cells render as TH elements in the PDF structure tree, which is semantically correct. However, they are missing a…
