  1. Modify F9 keyboard in Narrator/Virtual mode as it is dedicated for reading mode in Edge

    Hello Microsoft Accessibility Team,

Please modify the F9 keyboard in Narrator/Virtual mode as this keyboard is dedicated for reading mode in Edge or other internet browser like in Chrome. I know I can turn off virtual mode temporary or permanently in Narrator, but this is make the reading much more slower when the webpage supports the reading mode.
I know there are several function keyboards which are not assign to any methodes in Narrator/virtual mode.

    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Gabor

  2. azure voices

    Hello.
microsoft produces new neural sounds and offers these sounds both with azure and microsoft edge.
These new neural sounds sound really natural.
I want these new natural sounds to be used with screen readers and also to use these sounds with android.
The sounds we use in windows are very artificial.
I want the new natural sounds used with azure to be used for the visually impaired.

  4. Create an all purpose gesture like to finger double tap in iOS. Create an all-purpose gesture like two finger double tap in iOS.

Please consider adding an all-purpose gesture in Windows narrator for touchscreen, which would allow users to access dictation, pause and restart audio playback, and mute and unmute themselves on Zoom, basically allowing users to toggle things on and on and off with one gesture instead of having to scrabble around the screen looking for the right control.

  6. Fix screen reader bug in Microsoft Calendar App

In Microsoft Calendar app narrator or any other screen reader will NOT read days of the week that newly appear on screen. For example, on the screen you have the full month of November (nothing else). You are sitting on the first week at November 6th. When you move up with the up arrow the previous week appears, but it does NOT tell you that you are now on October 30th. The only way to know is if you use the left or right arrows to move to the previous or next day. I.e 29th or 31st. Please fix!

  7. Narrator for spin button and <Input type=number> should not announce default min/max values when undefined.

Currently, if aria-valuemax and aria-valuemin attributes are not defined for an input element, Narrator will announce "Minimum 0 and maximum 0". In the case that there is no functional min/max to be set, this is misleading for users.

This behavior can be seen in the Value example here:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/input/number

  9. Please make narrator compatible with Microsoft word/excel/Power-Point Etc.

Please make narrator compatible with Microsoft word/excel/Power-Point Etc.

The image description feature should extract and announce the text in captcha also. It will be very helpful for the visually impaired while doing log in and filling an application form.

Kindly make Microsoft Teams fully compatible with narrator and other screen readers like NVDA and JAWS. The screen/ tabs on Microsoft Teams are not readable at all.

In the read aloud feature, add more navigation features like character, word, line, sentence and page. Currently, narrator allows moving forward and backward by paragraph only.

  10. Visual output on Windows Narrator

I would like to have a visual output of what's being read on the screen, much like Apple's VoiceOver or Android's TalkBack.
It's super useful when developing for accessibility on the web, as that's a quick way to know what's being output by the screen reader without listening to it.
This could be a setting you could have turned off by default to avoid having breaking changes.

  11. Improve narrator support for lists

When encountering lists with multiple columns, narrator either reads the first item in the column, or nothing at all. As an example, open the msinfo32 System Information utility from the run box or start menu and tab to the list view. Pressing down arrow causes Narrator to speak "OS Name 1 of 42 selected". If this same list is read with NVDA, it speaks all the information. In this case, it would say Windows 10 Home, Professional, Enterprise, etc. In order to receive the same information with Narrator, it is necessary to press Narrator and the right arrow to move…

  13. Wrong pronunciation of an important German word

We found that the voice output for the German word "Studierendenkanzlei" (at a university: the Academic Registrar's Office) in MS Word (or other MS products) is hardly understandable. Where can we possibly submit suggestions for a better pronounciation?

  14. Hello. I am a user of a screen reader living in Turkey. We want the Emel voice, which is used as a text-to-speech voice in Microsoft service

Hello. I am a user of a screen reader living in Turkey. We want the Emel voice, which is used as a text-to-speech voice in Microsoft services such as Microsoft Edge Chromium, Office 365, based on Azure, to be used in Windows screen readers. We find Emel voice more successful than Tolga Mobile voice. There is an excessive pause problem only in punctuation and at the end of the sentence. I think that is because it is server based. I think it will perform better if the Emel synthesizer is running on the device and integrated into Windows 10. Thank…

  15. Allow Narrator to be updated through the Windows Store

Currently, we have to wait for new major versions of Windows to ship in order to receive updated builds of Narrator. If possible, please allow the screen reader to be updated through the store. This would allow the Narrator team to push new features and fixes at a much faster pace. Of course, Narrator should continue to be bundled with Windows, it would just be nice to have a way to update it more frequently.

  16. Support aria-rowcount and aria-rowindex

Currently, if I have a table like so:
    <table aria-rowcount=1>
    <tr role=presentation></tr>
    <tr aria-rowindex=1>...</tr>
    </table>
Narrator will announce 2 rows instead of 1

  17. Assign a shortcut key to specific input language

It would be great that a specific keyboard shortcut can be assigned to the Windows keyboard input language in the Language Settings.
At the moment, as screen reader user, I can swich the keybord language by pressing alt+shift. As I speak many languages I have many keyboard languages installed, and, by pressing alt+shift, I have to cycle through the complete list of languages each time when I want to change the keyboard language.

    Example:
I am writing this text in English and, at the same time, I have a chat in French and Italian. As I have 7 more keyboard…

  19. Screenreaders do not read search results when typing in the search box in win 2004.

Hi, screenreaders do not read search results when typing in the search box in windows 2004 and there seems to be no way or configuration to make them do so. Also, it is very difficult to stop screenreaders from reading day, week or year expanded in the downloads folder. This should now be the default in windows installation. Thanks.
