  1. Move focus from the message list to the message body after selecting a message within Outlook for Android

Currently when selecting a message from the Focused Inbox within Outlook for Android version 2.1.116, focus remains on the item in the list when using the app with the BrailleNote Touch. While the Touch does have a touchscreen and supports gestures, the primary navigation paradigm with the Touch is linearly using keyboard commands. When a message is activated from the list, focus should move to the message body. Currently users have to scroll/swipe past all of the messages in the list in order to locate the contents of the message they opened.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us via the User Voice forum. This is something that we’ve already been made aware of as a desired feature. Therefore, I’m in communication with the product managers to see when this may be implemented. Once I have clear information on this, I’ll post a follow up comment on this topic.

Again, thank you for contacting the Microsoft Disability Help Desk.

  6. In edge, Narrator should take you to where you were on the previous page when performing the back command by pressing backspace. It should

Currently, Narrator doesn't take you back to where you were on a webpage when going back to the previous page. For example, follow a link in this forum, then go back. Focus should return to the link you were on before going to the new page.

  7. Capsule virtual reality

A reputable company Microsoft, I apologize in advance for not being an exact translation (if he is), so I really do not know much English. I have just a few moments ago I saw your creation HoloLens, and I was deeply impressed by this device. And I would like to tell you about a text concept of absolute immersion in virtual reality devices.
It is a capsule full immersion, in which a person falls into a trance or dream, using neural helmet that reads brain signals and converts to a digital signal, creating a virtual reality of total immersion, in…

  8. Add an autoscroll or autopan feature for braille displays.

When braille support is introduced into Narrator, I would like to have an automatic scrolling or panning mode. This would make it easier to read long passages of content without having to constantly press the scroll button on the display to scroll to the next line of braille. This feature could be further enhanced by customizable time intervals for the display to scroll. For example, have the display scroll after 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc. This would let the user customize how quickly the refreshes occur.

  9. Add the ability for Narrator to automatically read the contents of dialogue boxes and notifications from Action Center.

When a dialogue box opens, Narrator only reads the first control that gains focus. While it's possible to use the Narrator cursor to read the text in the dialogue, I would like an option to specify whether Narrator automatically reads the contents of these dialogues when they appear. Along the same lines, I'd also like to see automatic reading of notifications when they are received. Currently, I hear a little **** sound when something new pops up. I have to go into the action center and manually view the alert. It would be nice to be told what the notification…

  10. enable narrator to work with echoing text that has been dictated

Make narrator echo back dictated text using Windows speech Recognition so that blind people who have limited use of their hands can take advantage of both features.

  11. Support captions / subtitles in MP4 & MKV files.

Windows 10 Movies & TV supports SRT files. This is nice, but it's not really enough.
I know there's no end of anime folks asking for subtitle support in MKV files, so you can ask them what formats are prevalent there.
In the MP4 container, there's space for multiple "sbtl:tx3g" streams (aka "mov_text") to carry subtitles / captions, either to provide access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or to support multiple languages. You already support multiple audio streams, you already support subtitles in external SRT files, subtitles in alternate streams should be a small addition to…

  12. Make Mouse Keys work in Edge

Accessibility feature Mouse Keys does not work in Edge (and UWP apps with edge html engine). There is no reaction on click (5 key on numpad) or double click (+ key on numpad) in page area. Browser toolbars are only clickable with mouse keys area of the browser.

  13. Azure portal accessibility issues

The following problems in relation to Azure Portal accessibility have been encountered when using this UI with Jaws for windows 18 and NVDA 2016. Both Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome were also tested.

    1. the link to add subnets is not properly labeled.

  14. Provide day of week information when navigating the calendar in Outlook 2016.

When navigating the calendar in Outlook 2016 recent builds, the screen reader will announce the dates, but not the actual day of the week. JAWS used to do this before they switched to providing the information directly from outlook.

    Hi Jason,

Thank you for contacting us at the Disability Answer Desk. In order to serve you better, can you tell us what version of Outlook you’re using such as Mac or Windows 32 or 64-bit, and what version of Jaws or other screen reader that you are using? That will allow us to get this issue to the appropriate product manager to get this resolved for you.

Again, thank you for contacting us; and we will do our best to resolve this for you.

    Sincerely,

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

    Hello Hari Dhoundiyal ,

Thank you for contacting the Disability Answer Desk about your concern with Narrator. Can you give us some more detail as to when it does not alternate in between screen and editing mode? This would help us improve the software to make it user friendly.

    Thank you for contacting us.

    Sincerely,

    The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk.

  16. Improve contrast/color schemes for Microsoft Office 2010 and newer

The ribbon menus need another option that provides more contrast and easier to see icons for Low-Vision users. The current shades of gray, and small size are very frustrating for our low-vision students. We really miss the Office 2003 menu styles and color schemes which provided greater contrast.

  18. Remove the compromise between keyboard and controler on XBox with Narrator

I recently purchased an Xbox console. Here are my thoughts on the experiences so far and I think an underlying theme of where accessibility breaks and needs to improve. I am really passionate about making this a good console for users, so opening dialog up about this is critical. That's why I was super excited when I purchased my console a few weeks ago, a moment where I was confident that at least I'm getting some out-of-box accessibility solutions and a company dedicated to their mission.

First, the biggest issue with Narrator, as it stands, is this controller-keyboard compromise I…

Apparently, speech recognition wont work if I have a default windows language other than the supported ones. I cannot have for example Swedish as default windows language and speak English US with speech recognition..... I hope you fix this asap.....:-)
