  1. Please make an audible or vibration signal to indicate when the pen is paired with the surface pro4 tablet. G

There should be a vibration or audible signal to indicate when the function key is pressed. This is particularly important for us blind jaws screen reader users. I have muted my surface many times because I didn't realize the function key was not depressed.

        • Outlook Fixed Zoom for Reading Pane

When viewing Outlook in the "Compact View", please fix the zoom slider so that one can set it to a specific zoom instead of having to adjust the slider for each email.

I have found a macro that I can use to fix the zoom in emails I open, but it is easier to just view many of them in the reading pane.

            • Allow VoiceOver on a MAC to access alignment information in the office apps

When pressing VO+T in office apps on a MAC to obtain font and formatting information, the alignment information is missing. This should be included to mirror other screen readers in Windows.

              • Improve magnification - make it more Apple like

Would be great to have similar magnifying features like there are in mac os x:
                - GPU enhanced magnification (not only in full screen mode) to make everything more smooth.
                - Make desktop scrollable rather than reducing the space in "docked mode".
                - Add an option to center the mouse in the zoom area (full screen mode).
                - Add a shortcut to quickly enable/disable zoom without having to close magnify.exe.
                - Dual monitor support:
                - desktop expansion
                - clone (zoomed)
                - clone (1x - with no zoom)

                  Hi Artur,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your specific suggestions. At this time, I’m in contact with the Project Managers to get an idea of what’s been implemented and what is planned. Once I have concrete answers, I’ll get back to you.

                  Thanks again for your input.

                  Sincerely,

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

                • Windows 10 low res 800x600 request

I am a legally blind, mostly blind now user of Windows. I originally used Windows 7 Ultimate, but now am trying out Windows 10 Pro. Under Windows 7 using 800x600 I was able to use the entire width of my 24" monitor. All applications showed up fine.

I upgraded to Windows 10 because my screen reader Window-Eyes changed the color of the taskbar to white when active. I was advised to upgrade to Windows 10 to resolve this issue.

Now I cannot use 800x600 with my limited vision. I know in your start pane where you have the squared with…

                    Hello,

That is a very good suggestion. In reproducing this, I see that indeed we nolonger carry that resolution inWinodows 10. Looking at it from your prospective I can see how that would be easier rather than just using a screen magnifier or a physically held one.

I’ll forward this to one of our product managers and see if I can get some feedback on this for you.

In the meantime, thank you for reaching out to us, and if there’s something else we can do for you, don’t hesitate to contact us again.

                    Sincerely,

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

                  • Please make the hot keys in the Office 2016 word spell checker work as they did in word 2010.

In word 2010 spell checker you could hit ALT+C to change a misspelled word to a suggested correction. Now in word 2016 you need to do a lot more tabbing to get things done. Ironically in Outlook 2016 the spell checker works as it has always worked allowing alt+C, alt+I and so on.

                      Hi Casey,

Thanks for getting in touch with us about this issue. This is a very good observation in that it would make it more difficult for somebody with motor impairments would have a more difficult time with that functionality. I’ll pass this on to our engineeringcontacts to get some feedback as to what can be done.

Thanks again for reaching out to us, and if there is anything else we can do for you regarding accessibility issues, or questions, feel free to contact us.

                      Sincerely,

The Microsoft Disability Aswer Desk team.

                      • Allow users to DISABLE animations in SharePoint OnPrem 2016 HoverCards

I find ALL on-screen animation makes me physically nauseous, so turning ALL animation off is extremely important to me.
Erin Williams in CELA tells me that it is not currently possible to switch off the animation in HoverCards in SharePoint OnPrem 2016: which makes the product unusable for me. Please make disabling animation in SharePoint a GLOBAL and USER SELECTABLE (i.e. not IT department) option.
And: can Microsoft PLEASE STOP animating everything in every app "because we can?" Edge is now unusable because of that, also large portions of Windows10. Animation, so-called "smooth" scrolling, and similar abominations are NOT "cool"…
