I suggest you ...

Add a command or toggle to disable Narrator speech and sounds.

There needs to be a way to disable Narrator speech and/or sounds. This is especially true now that we have braille support. Currently, I have to mute the entire system to have a silent braille experience.

    Hi Chris,

We do have a hot key to turn on and off Narrator. If you use the Windows Key and Enter, that should turn on and off Narrator.

One clarifying question that I have though is are you using Narrator with the braille device, or are you using the device separately?

    Thank you,

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

I don't want to completely disable Narrator. I just want to toggle speech and sounds off while keeping the screen reader active so it can continue to communicate with the braille display.
