Speech recognition improvement needed in Windows
Please can Microsoft improve Windows speech recognition and speech recognition generally for those who can’t use a keyboard, touch screen or switch. Speech recognition plays such a low profile within Windows 10. It should be much more prominent and more of a priority.
Infuse some AI and computational cloud computing into each recognition to improve accuracy.
Windows speech recognition takes a long time to set up and accuracy is not very impressive. It is worlds apart from Nuance Dragon professional speech recognition product.
Windows speech recognition is of little practical use to people like me who rely completely on voice for emailing, sending messages, tweeting, updating Facebook, writing documents, and working.
The speech recognition market has taken a huge hit with Nuance Dragon discontinuing their Mac product. It would be great to see Microsoft stepping into this gap in the market and offer everyone, including physically disabled people like myself, a truly great speech recognition product. Aside from the Nuance Dragon product there is nothing decent on the market.
Please step up to the plate Microsoft!
After doing the training in the speech recognition portion I find that the accuracy is less than 50% it makes the use of the dictation more cumbersome than simply typing in the words. In this particular paragraph which I am dictating the hacker see looks quite good but when I was dictating a story about the combo line on a harvest crew crossing the curry. One can see the many accuracies the many inaccuracies. Please help

I think the speech recognition needs to be more tightly integrated with Cortana. It's a separate program, which is silly, and confusing since Cortana invites you to speak to your computer.
I agree. Windows speech recognition is just not good enough to use as a primary access method, which is very frustrating for those who have no choice.
Thanks for sharing this feedback with us Colin. We will definitely be sharing this with the engineering team and making sure to improve our speech recognition software. Please continue to give your feedback and upvote posts that you agree with.
