  2. Narrator suggestions

When installing windows from a flash dive it would be nice to have narrator speak during the windows setup process. This would benefit the blind and visually impaired. Also it would be nice to be able to use narrator while in the bios.

  3. Narrator should read date picker control

Narrator does not read a sysdatetimepick32 control.

There is an example of this control in the microsoft sample program:
    In classic samples: Win7Samples\winui\sideshow\alarms

This request is prompted by narrator not reading these date pickers in the Audacity audio editor.

  4. My feedback is about Narrator in Windows 10S.

Hello. I have recently been made aware that Microsoft Surface products Have begun shipping with microsoft’s signature secure OS, Windows 10S. This means that only applications from the Microsoft Store can be installed on these devices. I understand that for many years, Microsoft has relied heavily on its partnerships with screen reader manufacturers such as Freedom Scientific and NVDA. However, if Windows 10S is truly going to be the future of Windows OS, the time may be fast approaching for Narrator screen reader to become a fully functioning screen reader, able to be compatible with every native Windows/Microsoft program, as…

  5. Advice regarding the options for sound devices.

I recently got a headset with a mic and really struggled to get the mic to work. I was able to hear audio just fine but when I tried skyping with some friends, no one could hear my voice. For a long time, I thought I made a mistake perhaps by plugging in the mic in the wrong port, or there was something else at fault.

It turned out that I needed to boost the volume of the MIC in the property options under the recording tab for my MIC in the Sound window. I had gone to this screen…

  6. Narrator+Up Arrow for everything, please

first of all, thanks for bringing traditional keyboard commands to Narrator, that really helps. However, I would like to suggest you to match other screen readers' experience in one point: the Narrator+Up Arrow (or, I believe, Narrator+I in more Narrator'esque terms) reads the current line, which is nice and good. However, if I'm not on a line of text, Narrator dings at me and says like "Not in explorable text". Actually, whenever you press Insert+Up Arrow when using other screen readers, you always get feedback: if you're in File Explorer, you get the focused file or folder; if you're…

  7. Narrator support for Google Chrome

Hi it would be really helpful if Windows Narrator was made accessible for Google Chrome as a lot of people have their data saved in their Google account and it is a lot easier to keep your info synced across all of your devices e.g. your android phone and PC and Chromebooks. I would like to see Narrator work the same way in Chrome as it works in Internet explorer. I would also appreciate if you allow scripting for Narrator as it does not work with companies own programs.

  10. Allow Narrator to unmute the system sound device

Narrator should check the system output device when ever it is activated. If the sound device is muted, Narrator should automatically unmute it and set the volume to a value such as 50% so that it is audible. If the sound device is working properly, Narrator should do nothing and start normally. This would be a great help when trying to work with a system where the sound was muted. By pressing Control+Windows+Enter, the screen reader starts and the sound device is unmuted and set to a relatively high volume.

  12. Enable Cortana and Narrator to work together without them both talking on top of one another.

Narrator and Cortana talk on top of each other when I use both at the same time.

  13. Different voices for Read Aloud in Word

The default voice on Read Aloud makes it difficult to use for its purpose. When it reads your document, it sounds very awfully robotic and monotone. It's hard to listen to your own document. It really is hard to listen to it or even revise while listening because you get distracted by how awful the voice sounds. I would suggest different voices, male and female as well. Most of all, a more natural sounding voice.

  14. Narrator and difficult situations

Narrator is becoming more powerful with every windows 10 release. With that being said, here are some things that would make it more valuable. 1. The ability to access advanced settings in windows, as well as bios configurations. There are times when I need to immage on to a USB drive, and I am unable to. 2. The ability for narrator to work with browsers outside Edge and the now outdated internet explorer. 3. Abaility for narrator to work with other applications o outside microsoft. 3. The abaility for narrator to work with complex web applications that offer chat functionality.4.…

  15. Automatically pause Narrator while Cortana is listening.

Unlike Siri and VoiceOver on Apple products, Cortana and Narrator are not integrated. Blind and low vision users expect the screen reader to pause whenever a personal assistant is listening for commands.

One third-party developer, Freedom Scientific attempts to remedy this by ducking the audio from it's screen reader (JAWS) whenever Cortana is invoked. However, this method isn't always effective at preventing Cortana from detecting feedback from JAWS.

Is it possible to provide such functionality in Narrator?

  16. narrator with math content

every screen reader has serious issue with math content. some require you to install special software to read content in MS word or on the web. I wish, Microsoft takes initiative to improve this situation. maybe Microsoft should be improve the accessibility of MS word and work on narrator to add support for math reading.
perhaps, Microsoft gives me any option to write and read math in MS word or Microsoft edge using narrator.

  19. turkish phonetic notification problem

While the characters are declared phonetically, English words are used (bravo, delta). Turkish phonetic characters should be used instead (bursa, denizli).
In addition, while the picture is made in the detailed description of the picture content is not in Turkish, English is done.

  20. Make screen readers read suggested names when composing a mail in Windows mail. No screen reader is able to read names automatically

When you type text into the to or cc/bcc fields in Windows Mail, Mail will suggest names as you type. The names cannot however be red out by any screen reader, unless you move focus out of the field, and then back into the field, often by using tab and then shift+tab back into the field. When you do this the suggested name is being spoken, but it should not be necessary to
move out of the field to get this information spoken.
