  1. Image sharing with Seeing AI

So far I'm impressed with Seeing AI. However I want to be able to send images and documents from any app on my device. Certainly I should be able to share or send an image from my Onedrive app to Seeing AI.

    • Creat a form letter we can send to developers

We need a form letter we can send to a developer when we are struggling to use in inaccessible or partly accessible applications. I'm truly impressed with the great modern documentation Microsoft has produced for developers, but sometimes users need to nudge them in the right direction. To do this most non-technical users need a way to communicate with developers using language they understand.

To bridge this gap, I created this letter. I hope Microsoft accessibility can improve on it and issue something official that end users can copy and paste when emailing developers:

      • A gadget for storage with specific features

        Hello
I hope you read this email thoroughly.
Some time ago, the idea of a gadget came to my mind that it took over from the cloudy space,Which enabled people to store their data where they had full confidence.
Of course, there may be some examples of these gadgets in the market, but I'm talking about a gadget with specific features.
If you would like to know this idea, I can help you.

        • Volume control on your disability answer desk.

Have outgoing volume control on your disability answer desk phones. I have one on my end but find that many techs speak softly or with an accent that makes it difficult to understand. My phone has a volume control which helps. I can't have my hearing aid in due to feedback. Maybe chat would be better but the problem I'm experiencing now is complicated. After spending 30-40 minutes with your disability desk the tech could not fix the problem and suggested I talk to my ISP. If you're interested in DETAILS about the problem I would be glad to provide…

          • Remove the app size limit downloaded via mobile data in store

Everything is fine with this Windows phone(LUMIA 520). But worst thing is that I can't install apps(<20mb) with mobile data in this phone. I really dissatisfied with this feature. I can't update my applications without Wi-Fi. I have a large mobile data plan but I can't use that. It doesn't support sideloading of apps. What would a user do who has not mobile data connection instead of Wi-Fi??? Should he buy another phone for setting up a Wi-Fi connection to update his apps on his Windows phone ???
Guys! I am from India and I can use large data plan…

              • Label the search box in the Windows 10 store

When navigating the Windows 10 store with any screen reader, the search box is unlabeled and only appears as an unlabeled button. Once activated, the button expands to a text area which text can be typed into to perform the user's search query. Can this search box not be correctly labeled, and classed as a standard edit control type rather than a non-standard, unlabeled button? I get that one can press CTRL+E, as in echo, to reach the edit field, but that's not an excuse to override good accessibility habbits as well.

                • The ability to change my working background (in Word, Outlook and Excel)

                  Hi,
I used to be able to change the colour of my background in the Personalisation option from the Desktop. It allowed me to choose any colour I liked for my page and text in Word, Outlook and Excel. It was wonderful and I used to share this feature with users I trained using AT since it was a free adaptation that made a huge difference.

I have always said, you would never spend all day looking at a bright white light, and yet we do, by looking at a bright white piece of paper in Word.

                  This is hugely…

                    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us about this. We are currently looking into this and will give you updates on this as soon as made available.

In the meantime, have you tried the following as a potential solution?

Try these options for the user:

There are two ways to set high contrast to reduce eye-strain and improve readability. Please try one of these and let us know your feedback as to whether this resolved your issues or not.
                    1. Office themes, a “mild mannered” solution, where you can choose a theme with better contrast
                    a. Shortcut Press L Alt+ L Shift + Print Screen; talked about in: https://blogs.office.com/2016/05/19/accessibility-enhancements-in-office-365-for-people-with-vision-impairments/
                    2. High contrast in Windows, the “real thing”, which they set in the Ease of Access center
                    a. Turn high contrast mode on or off in Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/ece8e1d7-1a7c-473c-a0f4-3c9d66fee295/turn-high-contrast-mode-on-or-off-in-windows

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

                    • Make the "Microsoft Virtual Academy" more friendly to screen reader users

Currently trying to take the virtual academy course in PowerShell. Tried IE, FireFox, Edge and Chrome; Chrome works the best. Tried NVDA, Narrator and JAWS; JAWS works the best. The control-semicolon keystroke does bring up an accessible view of the slide presentation. But after the first video for the first lesson is done playing (around an hour) there is no play button. I've toggled autoplay on and off, and have gone through the slides and the table of contents. I've pressed ENTER on different items in the contents; nothing plays. I guess the play button is some inaccessible graphic an/or…

                        • Create a top level domain for the Accessibility Community forums.

It took me forever and a day to find the URL to these accessibility forums. When I called the Accessibility Helpdesk, the lady didn't have even the slightest inkling of an idea what I was talking about. She barely spoke english, and was inevitably reading from a script put in front of her little nose. I"m not aposed to outsourcing people overseas to do tech support work, and that's not the point of this post, so no one flame me here. All I'm saying is, it took her about 10 minutes just to find the link to these forums, and…

                                Hllo C. A.

We did some research and came up with the following:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Accessibility/windows – doesn’t have anything directly about switch interface devices, but the AT link lists Tobii Dynavox as a product that has application compatibility with Windows 10.

Currently we are working to ensure third party assistive technology partners are fully supported on Windows 10.

If you have a device you prefer to use, let us know and we can work with that partner on any functionality issues you find.

Thank you for contacting us, and if there’s something else that you need, please feel free to reach out to us.

                                Sincerely,

The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk team.

The Black Office Theme (this is different than the Dark Grey one) should be included with all versions of Microsoft Office as part of the program. Not including them penalizes faculty, staff, and students with disabilities by making them pay for a copy of the subscription versions which do include a black office theme. Thank you.

                                  • Changing braille display drivers needs to be more intuitive, if needed at all to start with.

When I tried adding my Freedomscientific braille display to be used with Narrator, I followed the directions in Narrator's user guide chapter 7:

                                    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4004263/windows-10-narrator-using-with-braille

In this article, after updating the driver through Device Manager, it states in step 7:

Choose the driver that begins with LibUSB-Win32 from the list on the following page and select Next to install the driver.

I don't see a "next page" to be able to select this. After doing all steps up to step 7, I'm then returned to my device manager, and placed back under the Freedomscientific USB node which still is expanded with…

                                    • For narrator, it might be a good idea to have announcements of individuals typing when in the skype moddern app.

When using the desktop client for skype with third party screanreaders, there is a notification when in a conversation window indicating when a user is typing. For narrator, as of right now, I do not see this feature and think it would be a much needed implementation in helping Narrator become the screanreader it should be. Love the work so far, however, and am looking forward to seeing more developments and new features!

                                      • It would be wonderful if we could get a way to completely disable the monitor on laptops (like windows+p used to do on 7).

All available options currently turn the screen off, but any key press brings it back. Keeping the screen completely turned off is great for us blind users who don't use it at all, since it offers privacy, saves battery, and means we don't need to change brightness settings whenever somebody else needs to use the machine.

                                        • Close Narrator automatically when starting another screen reader

When installing another antivirus product, Windows Defender deactivates itself. Since having two or more screen readers running at the same time impacts negatively on performance and keyboard usability, Narrator should also close and deactivate itself automatically when it detects that the user started another screen reader and configured one to start automatically, before and/or after logon, on the Ease of Access Control Panel applet.
This would prevent situations like the following:
                                          1. When upgrading to new Insider Preview builds, if the user left Narrator turned on to watch the installation progress, it starts automatically after logging on, even when the…
